Erfan Moghadam
My name is Erfan, a Persian name meaning “knowledge” and “insight”, inspired by the Persian literature and poetry.
I recently completed my Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and currently work as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Tehran.
Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to work with researchers from the Université de Montréal, the University of Innsbruck, and Sharif University of Technology, while continuing to develop research around intelligent mobility and connected systems.
Outside of my academic and professional life, I enjoy running, fitness, swimming, badminton, and staying active.
My research focuses on artificial intelligence and machine learning for intelligent transportation systems, vehicular networks, and autonomous driving. I am especially interested in problems that arise in dynamic environments, where vehicles, infrastructure, and learning-based systems need to interact reliably and make decisions under constantly changing conditions.
A large part of my recent work has been centered on VANETs and intelligent mobility, with a particular focus on clustering, cluster-head selection, network stability, and learning-based methods for improving communication and overall system performance.
More broadly, I am interested in reinforcement learning, road safety, vision-language-action models, and AI for autonomous and connected systems. I am most drawn to research questions that are not only technically interesting, but can also be evaluated carefully and developed toward practical use in real-world mobility environments.
